Technology and cooperation are the keys to securing the U.S. borders
CANYON LAKE, Texas, May 13, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- COPsync, Inc. (OTCBB: COYN - News), a software technology provider to law enforcement and emergency service professionals, announced today that the Company will be exhibiting at the 3rd Annual Border Security Expo being held at the Phoenix Convention Center on May 13-14, 2009. There will be over 100 exhibitors and 60 plus high-level speakers at the conference.
The 3rd Annual Border Security Expo will focus on strategies and tools for border management, including surveillance technologies, identification management, biometrics, bio hazard detection, intelligence sharing and other leading edge techniques. The Company will be offering demonstrations of their COPsync™ software, the first and only integrated software product that provides a real-time, nationwide information collection and sharing network for law enforcement officers. The software enables officers to instantaneously identify criminals, communicate with other officers, and access life saving and mission critical information via laptop computer or handheld devices.
The State of Texas, Division of Emergency Management, has previously approved applications for Border Security Equipment and Technology (BSET) grants to implement the COPsync software technology for various Texas municipalities stressing the importance of interoperability and real-time information sharing in securing our borders. COPsync’s technology platform brings agencies into compliance with federal mandates established by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
“No law enforcement entity can operate in a vacuum in this day and age, and these kinds of conferences really help us to showcase our technology to key law enforcement participants who are coming to the conference searching for security solutions. It’s very important that we in law enforcement share our resources to assist in helping secure our borders. In any given day, more than one million people, and over 300,000 private vehicles are processed at our nation's borders. COPsync, as an information sharing tool, will provide the entire law enforcement community with detailed information on this activity,” stated COPsync, CEO, Russell Chaney.
At the 3rd Annual Border Security Expo, hundreds of federal, state and local law enforcement and border agency officials plan to discuss critical issues at the two-day conference, being offered in conjunction with the Center for Border Security and Immigration at the University of Arizona, a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence. Presentations are scheduled to be made by high-level representatives of such entities as the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Phoenix Police, Tucson Police and tribal nation agencies, as well as officials from Mexico and Canada.
